As part of the Lower Peninsula Stormwater Improvements Southeast Regional System Project, both travel lanes of South Himes Avenue from Interbay Boulevard through West Bay Avenue will be closed beginning in late February 2024 and continuing until June 2024, weather permitting. Construction will occur Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. with occasional Saturdays as needed. As construction progresses northward on South Himes Avenue, driveways and intersections will be inaccessible for approximately 4 to 6 weeks. Drivers, bicyclists, and pedestrians will be required to detour around the construction zone. See detour routes on project area map.
